Description
The Wise’s Post Office Directories were published by Henry Wise with the first edition published about 1873.
These large volumes were the first national postal directories. The 1926 volume consists of 2670 pp, and contain a New Zealand towns directory, which lists all of the householders, the streets they lived on, and in most cases the occupations of the head of the household.
The volume we have scanned was an ex-library copy and is in two volumes. The first volume the text is faded in places, and the second volume, the pages are browned, both factors making it hard to get quality images. And in the government section of the second volume, a few pages have been replaced with very faded photocopies. This volume is searchable
