Written on the long voyage back to England after a two-year stay in New Zealand until 1898, the book was not published until 1904 due to the Boer War. The author had an innate love of sport, and has written this book on deer hunting, pig hunting, shooting of wildfowl, fishing in the rivers and sea, Racing and Steeplechasing. Set all around New Zealand he gives an account of the scenery and terrain. 283pp
